Student Representatives in Working Groups and Leadership Structures

Participation, representation, transparency, and mentoring.

Student representatives

Student representatives play a vital role in the academic ecosystem, serving as a bridge between the student community and university leadership. They actively participate in the decision-making process, ensuring that the interests, rights, and needs of their peers are protected and promoted across all administrative structures.

Serving as a student representative provides the opportunity to directly influence course organization, scholarship awards, and facility improvements, thereby contributing to the development of a fair and modern learning environment.

Representative Body

According to current representation rules, students in the Faculty of Public Administration are allocated the following seats on governing bodies:

  • Faculty of Public Administration Council: 4 seats.
  • SNSPA University Senate: 3 seats for student representatives from our faculty.

Beyond the classes, a COMMUNITY (that gets a 10). Start your academic journey with confidence!

Within the Faculty of Public Administration, the transition from high school to college is actively supported through mentoring program. This program is specifically designed to guide first-year students (“freshmen”) through the early stages of their college life, providing them with all the support they need for a quick and smooth transition.

The Role and Responsibilities of Mentors

Mentors support students starting with their very first meeting, which takes place immediately after the opening ceremony of the academic year. One of their fundamental responsibilities is to help new students become familiar with the institutional environment and academic values. Thus, mentors are responsible for informing students about the following essential aspects:

  • Regulatory Framework: The SNSPA University Charter, the Code of Ethics, the Regulations on Professional Conduct, and the Higher Education Law No. 199/2023.
  • Rights and Obligations that students have during their time at the university.
  • SNSPA Ethics Committee: information regarding its role, responsibilities, and composition.
  • Institutional Identity: the mission, values, and principles that guide the SNSPA community.

During the meetings, mentors guide students by providing them with essential information about the organization of teaching and administrative activities:

  • Organization and Schedule: details on how to access the class schedules on the faculty website and on the bulletin board, the professors' online office hours, and the structure of the study groups.
  • Administrative documents: the procedure by which students will be scheduled to pick up their student IDs and student cards, which are required to obtain discounts or free rides on public transportation.
  • Grading System and Fees: clarifications regarding taking exams during the exam session, the possibility of taking make-up exams, retakes, and exams to improve grades. In addition, the mentors explain the annual process of reassigning students to state-funded and tuition-based spots, a process based on the grades students have earned.
  • Scholarships: a presentation of the Scholarship Regulations, which cover financial aid, medical scholarships, merit-based scholarships, and performance-based scholarships (including the fact that these may be combined), as well as the deadlines for submitting applications to the secretariat.
  • Opportunities for growth: learning about the Erasmus+ program (opportunities for study and internships abroad), getting involved in volunteer activities, attending conferences, and participating in academic life at FAP.
  • Student representation: Details about the elections for group leaders and student representatives to the Faculty Council and the University Senate.

The team of mentors and their assignments

For the academic year 2026–2027, the mentoring team consists of a dedicated group of students and faculty members, ensuring optimal coverage for all first-year students, as well as for second- and third-year students (in the Public Administration and European Administration majors). More specifically, the program benefits from the support of 10 student mentors and 5 faculty mentors. The assignment of student mentors is organized systematically, by degree program and class: 6 mentors are assigned to classes in the Public Administration (PA) program, 4 mentors coordinate classes in the European Administration (EA) program, and 2 of them also serve as mentors for the Erasmus+ program, covering all groups.

  • Group mentors in the Public Administration program They are: Denisa Artene (Group 1 AP); Cristiana Gabriela Cioarcă (Group 2 AP); Denisa Ioana Pirvu (Group 3 AP); Tudor Andrei Popescu (Group 4 AP); Bianca Maria Popa (Group 5 AP); and Maria Magdalena Dinicu (Group 6 AP).
  • Group mentors for the European Administration degree program They are: Adrian Traian Paiu (Group 1 AE); Roberto Cărbunariu (Group 2 AE); Alexandra Mara Mînzat (Group 3 AE); and Zărnescu (Group 4 AE).
  • Student mentors responsible for the Erasmus+ program They are: Adrian Traian Paiu and Alexandra Mara Mînzat (all AP and AE groups).

In addition, this activity is closely supported by faculty mentors, who are assigned by academic year and major (first, second, and third years for the AP and AE programs), thereby ensuring consistent support, guidance, and effective communication throughout the academic integration process.

  • Teacher Mentors They are: Ioana Dogeanu-Zorlescu (first year, AP and AE majors); Florin Văduva (second year, AP major); Georgiana Mihăilă (second year, AE major); Iulian Matache (third year, AP major); and Alexandra Mirela Kiş (third year, AE major).

Get involved! The mentoring program is your first step toward academic success. We encourage all students to communicate openly with their mentors, review the recommended materials, and actively participate in our community!
